Happy New Year 2013

I haven't fallen off the planet, but haven't blogged since September.  It's not for lack of content, I have so much I need to get on the blog about the kids and the last few months.  In the process of thinking about my resolutions for 2013 I know I need to keep up on the blog better.  In essence, this is a scrapbook for my kids and we can't miss out this stuff.

My goal is to blog once a week.  I need to spend some time catching up on the past few months, and get in the present.  I am also working on my thesis to graduate in May with my Masters, so there will be a lot of computer time coming up.
Happy New Year!!!

Good Report!

This was the note I got on Jenna's slip from Preschool yesterday:

Jenna was OUTSTANDING during circle today!  She knew every letter with sounds and words to accompany each!  She named words like Charge, Quail, Victory, Queen, Quilt, etc!  She knew words none of the others had any idea of!  GREAT JOB  JENNA!  Very impressed with her today (not that I'm not everyday)!

I was such a proud Mom!

The Kiss of Death - STATISTICS

For anyone who knows me in real life, you all know I am not good at math...okay, fine, I'm awful at it! Erik will tease me because I get stressed out doing multiplication. Quick math in my head, forget about it! When I was younger and in school one of the MOST STRESSFUL things was those darn Mad Minutes in math class, where you had like 100 problems to try to do in one minute. Oh my gosh, I'm getting palpitations just thinking about it.

So, it's no surprise that in my undergraduate schooling I took the bare minimum for required math. I took Math 105 and I even took it credit/no credit so a bad grade wouldn't mess up my GPA.

Well, it's officially back to bite me! For my graduate level classes, two of them require this little pre-requisite called STATISTICS! Run for your life! Since I never took this in my undergrad, I have to do it now! And, I am taking it online! And, there are 9 tests during an 8 week class! And, flipping through the book, I've come to the conclusion at least half of it is in a different language. Are you noticing a pattern of nothing good coming from this?!

I've asked almost everyone I know, including the smartest person in the world, my Grandpa, if they were good at STATS! He was a Chemist and he didn't have any good things to share about STATISTICS! Everyone seems to remember their first STATS class as the one they failed, dropped, cheated, cried, whatever. Fill in the blank with any negative bad word you can think of!

So, wish me luck as I embark on this awful 8 week journey! I need all the help I can get!

The girl who cried wolf!

Jenna is now smart enough to know a little about cause and effect. In the morning when I get her out of bed, this is usually part of our discussion:

Jenna - I sick

Me - Oh really, what's wrong honey?

Jenna - I sick

Me - what hurts?

Jenna - I sick, eye hurts! Stay home, watch cartoons!

She has figured out when she is sick, she stays home with Mommy or Daddy and does not go to school. This is becoming an everyday attempt. The thing is, she really does enjoy daycare!

Notice Anything Different?....Extreme Makeover!

My blog just received an extreme makeover! I'm so excited, I have been wanting to get a cute updated look and now I have it!

Doesn't it look great!? I love it, and it is all thanks to Jen! She is so talented and generous with her time. Thanks Jen, it's great!

I look forward to my new blog look and I hope you all like it too! Okay, now back to my first assignment and homework for my online class for my Masters! Happy Sunday everyone!

What did I get myself into?!?!?

As if I'm not busy enough, and as if I already don't have time to do things I want/need to do; I'm going to be making that worse starting in January 2009. I am officially a student again! I was accepted into grad school!
I will be getting my Masters in Science Administration with a focus on Organizational Communication. I'm excited and nervous as the same time. Granted it will take me years to complete taking one or two classes a semester but those years are going to go by anyway...
The best perk is I am going to be attending school for free, thanks to CMU, where I work.
Wish me luck, it has been six years since I was a student, I'll need all the help I can get.
